Lead the World ...or yourself. The only 4 traits you need!

Having read every Leadership book, attended too many executive leadership workshops and still trying to be a better leader, I realized all the fancy theories and traits of the best leaders in every industry come down to 4 simple actions:

L =  LISTEN 

Talk less and listen more at the right time. Real listening skills requires a complete dedication to the other person.  Next Level learning comes from those who find info and facts from others. It's also a great way to develop trust and show compassion to others. 

E= ENERGY 

If you can't get fired up about something, don't expect the herd to follow.

 Energy ( excitement) is contagious. It also gives the impression you know what the heck you are talking about and will move people toward joining your cause.  It's not about changing your low-key personality, it's about using your writing, language and actions in an electric and energizing manner to jumpstart others to be part of your journey!

A= Aptitude 

Dumb Asses can't lead.

Know your stuff. Be well read. Research the issue so you know what you are talking about. If you can't simply explain it, you don't know it.  Smart is a better than Stupid, both in leading your self ... and others. 

In today's world of 24/7 news, there is no excuse not to know who is President Trumps nomination for the US Supreme Court vacancy  ( Google time).

D= Discipline 

In your time, in your thoughts and in your eating and fitness habits. Discipline is really just doing the stuff that needs to get done the right way at the right time. 

Lazy, procrastinating, sloppy people need to improve their self-leading skills before they think others will want to listen and be lead. 

Any everyday improvement in the Fab 4 Leadership skills may land that high power Rock star executive job you crave or make you a better softball coach, either way you and others win!
